Chadd Lacy received his BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. In 2005 he started work as a technical specialist at Cleveland Institute of Art, eventually moving on to be a faculty member. His approach to making work has spanned much of what glass has to offer. Making use of flameworked, cast, and furnace worked elements, his subtle narratives are beautiful and sometimes peculiar arrangements, touching on nature and often human experience. Most recently his studio practice has focused on flameworked borosilicate glass, where he has found the ability to expand his scale and detail afforded by working glass on the torch. Chadd’s work can be found in various museumsgalleries, collections and publications around the world
